Public exhibition
For Detroit
Ford · Michigan Central Station, Detroit · 2018
The first time Michigan Central Station had opened to the public in over 30 years.
The open house marked Ford’s renewed commitment to Detroit with the purchase and renovation of the station. With producer Red Paper Heart we concepted and designed the interior experience and the museum gallery.
A scaffolding-based design language signalled the start of construction without hiding the building’s beauty. The gallery chronicles life in Detroit alongside historic views of the station, from its grand opening through the war years and its fall from grace to its rebirth.
